Tread Softly was featured in The LUV’NV’s Lovelorn

I was very excited to be asked by the RaindropSoup and the lovely people at The LUV’NV to answer some questions about my current story Tread Softly.

One of the things I love about The LUV’NV is that it’s a site that features and encourages Twilight fanfic that isn’t all Edward and Bella. There’s so much more to the story than just them so I love anything that gets the word out about amazing fics that aren’t mega-popular and about the main triangle of characters.

I have to say, too, that I found one of my favorite all-time stories because it was Advocated on The LUV’NV. Seriously, if you haven’t read And Yet Dusk Fades yet, do it NOW!

Anyway, if you want to read my interview for the Lovelorn feature, click on the banner above. :)

Two Hopeless Romantic Awards!!!!

The Hopeless Romantic Awards announced the winners of their golden apples the other day and, in an amazing turn of events, I won two of them…sort of, lol!!!

So, to keep my happy high going from winning, here are the awards…

Lovely, aren’t they?

For Best Kid, I tied for third with koko23cat and there really isn’t any better company to keep when tying for an award.

I’m especially proud of that one because so many people reviewed the story and told me how much they loved the way I wrote Nessie and that they’d quit reading stories before because they didn’t like Nessie at all. To be honest, she’s far from my favorite character too, but I do like her in my story.

For Best Banner, the extremely talented and amazing FrozenSoldier said that we share the award because without my story, she wouldn’t have made the banner. That’s fine with me, I suppose.

Both girls are lovely friends and great writers. If you haven’t read their stories, well, why are you still here reading this? :)

Sites I Like: Mostly Carlisle and Esme – community at FF.net

I posted a one-shot called Trashy Romance Novel that I wrote for the FandomFightsMentalIllness compilation at FF.net the other day and Just4Me sent me the sweetest possible review of the story. She especially liked that I used Carlisle and Esme for my very first lemon so, lacking any good results in my search for good Carlisle/Esme stories (they come in second in the couple’s list for me, after Jasper/Alice), I asked her for some recommendations.

Lo and behold, she’d started an community at FF.net for stories that focused on Carlisle and Esme!!!! I was so excited that I decided to post the link right here and now and then I’ll be hurrying off to read the stories!

Mostly Carlisle and Esme

I’ll happily take any other suggestions for Carlisle and Esme stories too!

Sites I Like: Confessions of a Male Twi-Hard

I think I’d been to Ryan McKee’s Confessions of a Male Twi-Hard page at NextMovie before today but then I saw a tweet from Twilight Lexicon about his Father’s Day Twilight post and I immediately started going back through his blog. And I love it all over again!

The post from yesterday, for example, comparing and contrasting the “Twilight” Dads is so perfect and funny.

The best lines about each Twi-dad from that particular post are…

Billy: “Still, he’s not close with his daughters and his son is constantly taking off his clothes in public for free.”

Carlisle: “Randomly adopts children like he’s Angelina Jolie in a third-world country.”

Charlie: “Shows as much emotion as a vampire, so it makes sense that his daughter falls for one.”

Edward: “Considered abortion and doesn’t practice safe sex. To be fair, vampires have no bodily fluids, so how could he know?”

My vote for best Twi-Dad? Carlisle! What’s yours?

You should check out Confessions of a Male Twi-Hard!

Sites I Like: “Cleoland: The Occupation: Girl”…Twilight Wiki

Do you have a sense of humor when it comes to Twilight? If you do, and you can laugh at the silliness that is the Saga and still love it just as much (I can!), you need to visit Cleolinda’s blog and, more specifically, her Twilight Wiki page.

I found the site just last week when I was emailing back and forth with my partner in fanfic collaboration (it’s our first!) and complaining about the sticky, sweet happily ever after ending to Breaking Dawn. She threw out the hysterical line that “the cottage was just so happily ever after that you expected there to be a unicorn tied out back, that’s how magical it was”…or something to that effect. When I complimented her on it, she pointed me to the place where she’d gotten it. Cleolinda.

I came so close to spitting water out my nose and right onto my screen when I read her discussion of Midnight Sun. I laughed hard enough that I was worried people nearby might start to think that I was crazy. Which I probably am. At least I own it!

Anyway, the entire site, especially the book discussions are absolutely hilarious. Cleolinda said everything I was thinking, just funnier!

But, of course, if you’re fiercely defensive and believe that everything about Twilight is perfectly golden and should not, ever, be mocked…this isn’t the site for you.
